Neuralink, Elon Musk's biotech company, has announced that it has received approval from Canada to conduct trials there, following the FDA's approval in the United States two months ago. The upcoming research in Canada will focus on assessing the safety and initial functionality of the chips, which can allow individuals with paralysis in two or all four limbs to control devices with their thoughts.

While Canada's health regulators have not yet commented, a hospital in Toronto has confirmed it will be performing neurosurgeries in the near future. Previously, two people in the U.S. were implanted with Neuralink, with one of them able to play games and design in 3D using only his thoughts. Now, patients with quadriplegia in Canada can register for the PRIME (Precise Robotically Implanted Brain-Computer Interface) trial through a link shared by Neuralink.
