Just one day after an accident that killed 179 people, Jeju Air reported 68,000 cancellations, impacting over 300 flights. The cancellations were driven by safety concerns following the tragic December 29 crash at Muan International Airport. The aircraft failed to land properly, crashed into a barrier, and caught fire.
Travel agencies also reported a spike in tour cancellations. Jeju Air's stock price dropped sharply, despite being South Korea's largest low-cost airline prior to the incident.
