Liverpool Faces Suspension Threats as Key Players Approach Yellow Card Limits

The Premier League has set a rule where players who accumulate five yellow cards in the first 19 matches will face a one-match suspension. However, this rule will change starting from the match against Manchester United on January 5, 2025. From that point on, players who receive ten yellow cards within the first 32 matches will be suspended for two games. Currently, Liverpool's Ryan Gravenberch and Darwin Nunez have four yellow cards and need to avoid another to prevent a suspension. Along with them, Ibrahima Konate, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cody Gakpo, and Dominik Szoboszlai are also at risk of facing a penalty.

With a demanding schedule approaching, including key matches against Tottenham and Manchester United, the loss of key players would be a significant setback for Liverpool. These matches require the strongest possible lineup. Manager Arne Slot must carefully plan his tactics and instruct the players to remain calm to avoid costly mistakes. Liverpool currently leads both the Premier League and the Champions League.
