Plane Crash Near Aktau: 32 Survivors as Russia and Azerbaijan Leaders Express Condolences


 An Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane crashed near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, involving 62 passengers and 5 crew members from various nationalities. At least 32 people survived the tragedy. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and stated that a Russian Emergency Ministry plane, carrying medical staff and necessary equipment, was en route to Aktau.


President Putin also expressed hope for the recovery of the injured and assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted. On the same day, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal investigation into the plane crash.
