On February 14, 2025, Saturday Night Live celebrated its 50th anniversary with a grand musical event at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The concert, titled SNL50: The Homecoming Concert, brought together a mix of legendary musicians, comedians, and special guests to honor the iconic show’s five decades of influence.

According to Vulture, the night was hosted by Jimmy Fallon, who kept the energy high with his signature humor and enthusiasm. Several past SNL cast members also made appearances, blending comedy with musical performances.

The concert featured an array of performances from some of the biggest names in the industry. People reported that Miley Cyrus captivated the audience with a rendition of her hit song Flowers, even encouraging the crowd to join in and giving a special shout-out to actor Paul Rudd. Meanwhile, Vulture noted that Post Malone performed alongside the remaining members of Nirvana, creating a memorable tribute to the legendary band. Other highlights included The Lonely Island teaming up with Lady Gaga for a medley of their comedic digital shorts, and Will Ferrell with Ana Gasteyer reviving their SNL characters, The Culps, for a hilarious musical number.

According to AP News, Cher delivered a powerful solo performance, while the Backstreet Boys energized the audience with their classic hit I Want It That Way. Hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg brought nostalgia with his song Gin and Juice, and Lauryn Hill reunited with Wyclef Jean for a moving performance of Killing Me Softly.

Beyond the musical acts, several Hollywood icons attended the event. Vulture reported that Steven Spielberg was spotted monitoring cameras during Bad Bunny’s set, while Bill Murray entertained the crowd by reprising his role as Nick the Lounge Singer. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were also present, adding to the star power of the evening.

For those who missed the event, PeacockTV announced that SNL50: The Homecoming Concert is available for streaming on its platform. The celebrations will continue with SNL50: The Anniversary Special, a live primetime broadcast airing on NBC and Peacock on February 16, 2025.
